‘Rolling closures’ scheduled for Cambridge section of Hwy. 401 on Friday

The Ministry of Transportation says “rolling closures” are scheduled for Friday on Highway 401 through Cambridge.

Intermittent closures are expected to last between five and 10 minutes in both directions from Highway 8 to Speedsville Road.

The MTO said the closures are required in order to refresh existing pavement markings.

The work is expected to start at 10 a.m. and last until 3 p.m.

During this time, traffic will be paced through the worksite, and drivers can expect minor delays on Highway 401 and Highway 8.

The ministry said a detour route is not required.

The work is subject to weather conditions and the contractor’s schedule, according to the MTO.
