Drake, Sask. man wins $1M with Lotto 6-49 ticket

Saskatchewan Lotteries says a man, from Drake, found out how lucky he was this past summer.

James Isbister discovered his $1,000,000 win via a Lotto 6-49 lottery ticket he scanned on June 16, 2018.

“I’ve always played hoping that one day I’ll win, but I never believed it would actually happen,” he said in a press release.

“I don’t think the reality has really sunk in yet.”

Isbister said he’s going to take his time to decide what to do with the money.

He purchased his winning ticket at Thrifty Market at 203 Main St. in Humboldt. Isbister won his prize on the guaranteed prize draw by matching the selection 36810921-01.

The village of Drake is roughly 130 kilometres southeast of Saskatoon.
