SIAST President and CEO Larry Rosia says the cuts are the result of an annual program review.
He says the timing was largely driven by provisions in SIAST’s collective agreement.
In the meantime, the creation of new positions is in the planning process.
No further details were given as to which programs might benefit, but Rosia says the aim is to ensure the school delivers its mandate as a competitive technical institute.
