Brody Stevens, comedian and ‘Hangover’ actor, dies from apparent suicide at 48

Comedian Brody Stevens died of an apparent suicide on Feb. 22 at the age of 48.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that Stevens was found in his home in what was a suicide by hanging.

Stevens, who was in movies such as Hangover and Due Date, was a regular at Los Angeles comedy clubs like the Comedy Store.

“Brody was an inspiring voice who was a friend to many in the comedy community,” Stevens’ reps said in a statement. “He pushed creative boundaries and his passion for his work and his love of baseball were contagious. He was beloved by many and will be greatly missed. We respectfully ask for privacy at this time.”

Stevens, who was frequently a warm-up act on comedy TV shows like Why? With Hannibal Buress, and Chelsea Lately, had been outspoken about his struggle with depression.

Stevens’ TV credits include Brody Stevens: Live From the Main Room, American Dad, Adventure Time, Comedy Bang! Bang!, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night With Conan O’Brien, Tosh.0 and much more.

Condolences and tributes began pouring in once news of Stevens’ passing spread on social media.
