A Peterborough man is facing drug charges after police seized blue heroin as part of a drug investigation.

As the result of an ongoing investigation by the Peterborough Police Service’s ICAD Unit (Intelligence, Crime Analyst, Asset Forfeiture and Drug), officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hunter and Rubidge Streets on Thursday.

The accused, a passenger in the vehicle, was found to be in possession of approximately 10.6 grams of blue heroin (heroin mixed with fentanyl) and Canadian cash.

Edward Travis Pafford, 38, of Wallis Drive, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with trafficking a schedule I substance (fentanyl/heroin); possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 (fentanyl/heroin).

He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later Friday.
