Three suspects were arrested after RCMP arrived at the scene of a break-and-enter in rural Manitoba Friday afternoon.
Police said they were called to a home in the RM of Rosser around 1:35 p.m. Friday and were told that a black pickup truck had just fled the area.
Officers from Stonewall, Selkirk and Headingley flooded the area and spotted the truck travelling east on Highway 321.
After a brief chase, the truck slid off the road at the intersection of Highway 826 and Provincial Road 70 North.
The suspects ditched the vehicle and ran across an open field before being arrested by police.
A search of the truck – which turned out to be stolen – uncovered what police said was a significant amount of stolen property.
Benjamin Abbott, 29, William Meade, 25, and Melanie Rudolf, 29, all from Winnipeg, were charged with breaking and entering and three counts of possessing property obtained by crime.
RCMP continue to investigate.
