A hockey hall-of-famer and former manager of the Toronto Blues Jays are the latest head table guests to be announced for the annual London Sports Celebrity Dinner and Auction.

Ray Bourque and John Gibbons have been confirmed for the event on April 1.

The event’s chair Ryan Robinson made the announcement Thursday morning on the Craig Needles Show.

He says both are looking forward to raising money for a good cause.

“They say John Gibbons is the player’s manager, so people have a lot of love for him, and if you’re a hockey fan at all, you are likely well aware of the great body of work from Ray Bourque.”

The pair will be joining Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue for the event, which raises money for the Thames Valley Children Centre.

Moir and Virtue will be honoured as London’s Sports People Of The Year.

“You get people to come in excited to meet their favourite sports celebrity, and they leave with a knowledge of what the Thames Valley Children’s Centre does and the more-than-10,000 children they help out every year.”

Also announced Thursday morning, Sportsnet broadcaster Ken Reid will MC the event.

Tickets for the event at London Convention Centre can be purchased at LDNsportsdinner.com.
