A 27-year-old man was arrested after an eight-hour standoff ended peacefully in downtown Saskatoon on the morning of Feb. 12.
Reports of a man threatening another man with a rifle led Saskatoon police officers to a condominium in the 100-block of 23rd Street East around midnight.
Police said the Saskatoon man allegedly threatened two other men at gunpoint, backing them into an elevator following an argument.
Following the confrontation, police said the armed man refused to leave his home.
Members of the crisis negotiating team along with the tactical support unit team were called in to assist officers.
He was taken into custody at around 8 a.m. No injuries were reported.
He is facing charges of breach of undertaking, two counts of unlawful confinement, and eight firearms-related offences.
The accused is scheduled to make his first appearance in Saskatoon provincial court on the morning of Feb. 13.
