2 displaced by apartment fire in west end of Saint John
The Canadian Red Cross says at least two people were displaced by a fire Monday morning at an apartment in Saint John.
The fire was reported around 8 a.m. at 291 Mansfield Place.
An apartment unit on the top floor of a three-storey building was affected.
Disaster volunteers with the Red Cross arranged emergency lodging, meals and helped to buy winter clothing and basics for a woman and her adult nephew.
Other tenants were allowed to return home after smoke was ventilated from the 12-unit building. Some units may need additional cleanup from smoke or water damage.
No injuries were reported.
