7 face charges for drug trafficking after downtown Hamilton raids

Seven people are facing trafficking charges after police raided two homes in downtown Hamilton.

Police say they were tipped off a “local drug house” on Dunsmure Road near Gage Avenue.

Shane Hachey, 36, of Hamilton was arrested on Feb. 7, on five charges related to drug possession and trafficking, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police say the seized drugs, which included cocaine and methamphetamine, were valued at $4,700.

Police raided a second home, in the area of Cathcart and Kelly Street on Saturday shortly before 12:30 p.m., where they arrested six people between the ages of 21 and 45.

Justin Moore (31), Patra Shipway (36), as well as four others whose names were not reported by police, face fentanyl possession and trafficking charges.
