Two dead after fiery crash near Midale, Saskatchewan

MIDALE, Sask. – Two people are dead and one person was injured after a fiery crash near Midale, Sask. Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened around 2:40 p.m. on Highway 39 just north of the community.

RCMP say a northbound pickup truck with one person collided with a southbound pickup truck with two women.

The northbound truck then caught on fire.

The two women in the southbound pickup were declared dead at the scene. Their names have not been released.

The male driver of the northbound pickup was rushed by STARS to hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the crash continues with the assistance of RCMP reconstructionists.
