Officials say no injuries were reported after a fire ripped through a two-storey residence in Anten Mills.
According to a release issued by the Township of Springwater, on Jan. 31, just before 11 p.m., Springwater Fire and Emergency Services received a report of a residential fire on Luella Boulevard.
The residence was “heavily involved” with fire on the first floor, officials said.
The township says three crews and 34 firefighters began with an interior attack. As the fire progressed to the second floor and roof of the building, however, they were forced back.
“Thank you to our team of trained firefighters who battled the blaze while managing freezing outside temperatures and equipment,” said Deputy Fire Chief, Jeff French in the release.
“Working smoke alarms gave the family the lifesaving warning they needed to safely escape, enact their home fire escape plan and call 911.”
