Driver of ‘suspicious van’ charged after high-risk Burlington takedown

The driver of a suspicious van who was pulled over by police on the QEW in Burlington has been charged.

OPP stopped the vehicle in a high risk takedown near Appleby Line Wednesday after several motorists reported seeing a van with the word “KILL” spray-painted in large white letters on the back window.

The man, who police say was wearing a ski mask, was taken into custody without incident.

Police have identified the driver as Nikola Petrovic, 47, of St. Catharines.

He has been charged with dangerous driving, mischief, and using a disguise with intent.
