Global’s ‘The Morning Show’ extends to 1 hour in revamped format

Get ready to add another 30 minutes to Global’s The Morning Show.

That’s right, Global is thrilled to announce the expansion of its national morning program The Morning Show, extending its runtime from 30 minutes to one hour. Airing across the country at 9 a.m. ET/10 a.m. AT), The Morning Show‘s revamped format aims to capture the energy, style, and identity that unites Canadians coast-to-coast.

With a renewed focus on culture, lifestyle and entertainment, the program will feature celebrity guests, lifestyle contributors, and fun informative segments alongside the trending topics that Canadians are talking about. Carolyn MacKenzie and Jeff McArthur will continue to entertain viewers as The Morning Show‘s cohosting duo, transitioning from issues of the day to topics like cooking, fashion and culture.

Veteran broadcasters with more than 20 years each in the industry, MacKenzie and McArthur are familiar faces nationwide, having cohosted The Morning Show since 2015. MacKenzie has reported on major cultural events around the globe including the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the recent Royal Wedding, while McArthur has interviewed the biggest newsmakers from the world of politics, business and sports on both TV and radio.

“The refreshed show will offer deeper spirited interviews with entertaining guests as well as a variety of informative contributors — exactly what audiences want,” said Ryan Cripps, Executive Producer, The Morning Show. “Carolyn and Jeff are incredibly warm and approachable hosts – guaranteed to brighten the day for our viewers.”

The new, extended The Morning Show will debut on Global in early March 2019.
