Police have made an arrest after a possible threat was made towards a Prince Albert, Sask., school.

Prince Albert police said the teen was arrested Monday morning and charged with uttering death threats.

It was initially thought a potential threat was made Sunday evening on social media towards Carlton Comprehensive Public High School.

Police said further investigation found there was no information to suggest the school was the intended target of the threat.

The school the teen attends has been notified, police said, but they are not naming the school to protect the identity of the youth.

Police added they believe the youth acted alone and no further threat is believed to exist.

The teen is scheduled to appear Tuesday morning in Prince Albert provincial court.
