Calgary police said a Canada-wide warrant was issued for 25-year-old Laetitia Angelique Acera for charges dating back to September 2018.

“She has ties both to the Lower Mainland of British Columbia and to Saskatchewan, and it is possible she has left Calgary and is in one of those places,” police said in a news release Wednesday morning.

Social media helped officers track her down.

“Coordinated use of social media is also making it harder for people to hide in different jurisdictions as police services routinely share posts from other agencies when a wanted person is believed to be in their area, which is what made the quick arrest of Acera possible,” police said in a statement.

Police said Acera is the second person wanted in Calgary and arrested in Saskatchewan this week, after a man wanted for alleged domestic violence was arrested by the Regina Police Service on Saturday.
