Spring snow blankets Calgary; Snowfall warning ends for Calgary

A snowfall warning has been lifted for Calgary, but remains in place for several areas in southern Alberta.

Between 7 and 11 centimetres blanketed the city overnight on Saturday, leading to slick roads and hazardous conditions.

Calgary police reported 60 crashes in the city, between 6 p.m. on Saturday and 7 a.m on Sunday. Thirteen of those crashes included injuries.

The city can’t say yet whether a snow parking ban will be called, but says road maintenance crews are currently working to clear priority one routes

A high of -3 degrees is expected for Sunday with snow expected to fall throughout the day. Similar conditions are being reported for Monday as well; with a high of -2 degrees.

The snow is not expected to continue into the week, but it won’t warm up much until Thursday, when a high of 6 degrees is expected. Temperatures are expected to reach 10 degrees on Saturday.
