EDMONTON- Edmonton police officers are investigating after they say gunshots were fired at a downtown office building.

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) says it received a report of damaged windows Friday morning, in an office tower in the area of 104th Avenue and 101st Street.

After examining the windows, officers say the damage is the result of gunshots, which were fired at the outside of the building.

EPS says it received a report of gunshots in the area early Friday morning, and investigators believe this may be related to that call.

“At this time it is too early in the investigation to determine a motive, if any,” Inspector Joel Whittaker said in a release Saturday. “While no one was injured in this incident, we are taking this very seriously.”

EPS says investigators from Downtown Division as well as Tactical and Forensics units are interviewing witnesses as they continue their investigation.
