Toronto police say a man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed at the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto Tuesday night where a brawl broke out during a performance by American rap artist Pusha T.
Video circulating on social media appears to show a fight between multiple people after fans threw liquid at the rapper while he was on stage.
“I don’t think the video characterized everything that happened because we know there was a fight on stage,” Const. David Hopkinson said.
“We know some people were injured as people fled the musical hall and know there were other fights in the venue.”

Police said they are aware of five people who were injured and two or three of them were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities confirmed on Wednesday that another victim made his own way to hospital with stab wounds.
“He was assisted by friends. We had officers who were at the hospital who were investigating another matter and they noticed a man with stab wounds and they began investigating,” Hopkinson said.

“They were able to determine that he received his injuries at some point in the Danforth Music Hall incident.”
Police did not say if the man’s injuries were sustained during the initial brawl.
Pusha T replied to the incident in a tweet following the concert saying he was not assaulted on stage.

Danforth Avenue was closed between Broadview Avenue and Playter Boulevard, before being reopened some 45 minutes later.
No one was taken into custody.
Pusha T has been embroiled in a feud with Toronto rapper Drake.
Earlier this year, the Virginia-born rapper released a song called Infrared that accused Drake of using a ghostwriter to craft his songs.
Drake responded by releasing his own track, Duppy Freestyle that took shots at Pusha T.
Meanwhile, comedian Shaun Majumder confirmed on Twitter a show scheduled for Wednesday night at the Danforth Music Hall was cancelled due to the police investigation.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the brawl or have video of the incident to come forward.
“We know there were a lot of people at the venue. We know they would have been filming the events on their phones, the concert, or the ensuing fights and we’re asking the public to contact detectives of 55 Division and offer those videos so we can get to the bottom on this,” Hopkinson said.
