Luongo weighs in on remaining in Vancouver

Luongo was asked for his thoughts on what might have prevented a deal, and replied that his contract “sucks,” adding it’s a big factor in any potential move and is probably why he’s still in Vancouver.

Luongo, who has a no-trade clause in his deal, has 10 years remaining on a 12-year contract that’s worth $64 million dollars US.

The former regular starter has seen limited action since being supplanted by Cory Schneider in last year’s playoffs.

Luongo, a three-time Vezina Trophy finalist, says he’s looking forward to focusing on hockey now that the deadline has passed.
