TORONTO – Actress Rachel Bilson is opening up about her relationship with Canadian actor Hayden Christensen in the new issue of Cosmopolitan.
“I’m a really good girlfriend,” Bilson said in an interview in the May issue, out April 4. “I’m definitely the person who would make him his favourite dinner to come home to.”
The Hart of Dixie star said she and Christensen, who was born in Vancouver and grew up in the Toronto area, are homebodies.
“I love to cook, so we make dinner at home a lot and watch movies,” Bilson told Cosmopolitan.
The stars, both 31, divide their time between Bilson’s home in Los Feliz, California and Christensen’s farm north of Uxbridge, Ont. – about an hour north of Toronto.
Bilson and Christensen started dating in 2007 while making the sci-fi movie Jumper, which was partly shot in Toronto. They were reportedly engaged over the Christmas holidays in 2008.
In the summer of 2010, Bilson’s spokesperson confirmed the two had called off their engagement but Christensen and Bilson remained together.
In the Cosmopolitan interview, Bilson said she hopes to become a mom. “I definitely have family on the brain,” she said. “Having kids is something I want to see in my future – I hope.”
She also described Christensen as open-minded when it comes to her fashion choices.
“There will be an outfit I’m convinced will be too crazy for him and he’s like, ‘That’s awesome!’”
