Saskatoon provincial court. Brent McGillvray

SASKATOON – A court appearance for a Saskatoon mother accused of attempted murder has been delayed.

Doctors will not let her leave hospital at this time as she recovers from self-inflicted wounds to her wrists and abdomen.

The 32-year-old woman was charged after police found a six-year-old boy with a cut neck and an abdomen stab in a bathroom at a home in the 400-block of 9th Street East Thursday evening.

Police were called to the home to investigate a custody dispute after a father attempted to pick-up his six- and 10-year-old sons.

The 10-year-old told police he needed help as something was wrong inside.

That is when officers made the discovery of the boy and his mother in the bathroom.
