Hamilton man’s death caused by stabbing: Police

Four black Toronto teenagers who were stopped by police and thrown in jail two years ago have filed a lawsuit against the officers alleging they were targeted because of their race. (Global News File Photo)

One man is dead and a homicide investigation in ongoing, according to a news release issued by Hamilton Police Sunday night.

Police say they were called to a King Street West residence around 7 p.m. Saturday and found the man inside.

An autopsy performed by the coroner’s office Sunday determined that 33-year-old Kadar Omar died as a result of blood loss from a stab wound.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding Mr. Omar’s death to contact Det. Daryl Reid of the Homicide Unit at 905-546- 3823 or to call Crime Stoppers.
