Two garages and a home were damaged in a fire late Monday night in west Edmonton.
Firefighters were called to a home near 87 Avenue and 145 Street in the Parkview neighbourhood just before 11 p.m. Crews arrived to find a detached garage on fire.
Several people said they heard an explosion, then neighbours saw flames coming from the back of a home.

The fire spread to a neighbouring detached garage, causing damage, and water used to extinguish the fire also caused minor flooding to the basement of the home.
Investigators determined that the fire originated on a wooden deck at the back of the original home. Investigators also determined the explosion happened when some small propane cylinders caught on fire.
Everyone inside the homes got out safely. The fire was brought under control at around 11:30 p.m.
Damages to the home and contents where the fire originated is estimated at approximately $175,000, and damage to the structure and contents of the neighboring garage are estimated at $35,000.
The cause is under investigation.
