An intersection at the University of Manitoba re-opened Friday afternoon after a bizarre-looking early morning crash that involves apparently serious injuries.
A GMC pickup truck was rammed into a set of outdoor stairs at the intersection of Chancellor Matheson Drive and University Crescent.
Police said the crash happened at 3:20 am Friday but provided no other details about injuries or fatalities and refused to provide any other information. No other vehicles were involved.
The crash was apparently so violent it destroyed the front end of the pickup and damaged the concrete stairs. The vehicle had managed to knock over a traffic barrier before hitting the steps. Damage to the windshield was visible, as though it had been struck by a driver or passenger from the inside.
