RCMP in New Brunswick are investigating the alleged theft of a large quantity of frozen lobster meat from a shellfish processing plant.
According to police, someone broke into the plant on Chemin Saint-Simon in Saint-Simon, N.B., in the early morning hours of Aug. 10.

Investigators believe the theft of the meat, which was packed in 20-lb boxes, happened sometime between 12:45 a.m. and 1:30 a.m.
Police say a 1999 GMC Safari van with the New Brunswick licence plate GMR 044, which was stolen from a plumbing business in Tracadie, was used in the theft.
Although plumbing tools and pipes belonging to the company were found in a gravel pit, the truck has not been recovered.

Anyone with information about the pinched lobster meat, or who may have seen the van travelling along Chemin Blanchard in the early morning hours of Aug. 10, is asked to call RCMP at (506) 726-5222 or submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
