Police are investigating after the body of a Toronto man was found in the Muskoka River in Bracebridge.
According to Bracebridge OPP, just after 5 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to a report of a possible drowning at Kelvin Grove Park on the Muskoka River.
Police say a man had been swimming from the dock alongside the park and had failed to resurface.
Police, along with the OPP underwater search and recovery unit, Muskoka EMS and Bracebridge Fire Department, began a search of the area.
According to police, the body of a 38-year-old Toronto man was located just after 7 p.m.
Police say lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful and the man was pronounced dead.
According to police, a postmortem examination was scheduled for Tuesday as part of the ongoing investigation into the man’s death.
