Passengers arriving in Vancouver over long weekend advised to plan ahead

A busy weekend for cruise ships in Vancouver.

Eight boats are expected to dock over the long weekend starting Friday through until Monday, and long wait lines for taxis near Canada Place is expected.

“There are a number of improvements that we’re looking to make at Canada Place here that we’ve already made and that we’re continuing to make to ease the flow of traffic.”

She said it’s also advising ship passengers to call ahead for taxis, or take public transit.

“It will be busy though so we do encourage people that are coming into the city to use public transit if they can because it will be busy.”

The Vancouver Taxi Association isn’t expecting wait times to be a problem.
