The Nova Scotia legislature will resume next month with a speech from the throne.
The Speaker’s office said Friday the McNeil government will on Sept. 6 prorogue the previous legislature session, and open a new session a few hours later.

The spring session, which wrapped in April, saw the passage of a balanced budget and 20 bills, including 18 from the government and two from the opposition parties.
Those included major pieces of legislation that eliminated the province’s seven English-language school boards, set the rules for legalized marijuana, and set the guidelines for the potential redrawing of the electoral map.
