A 64-year-old man was killed in a head-on two-vehicle collision near a town east of Calgary Thursday morning.
First responders, including EMS and RCMP, were first called to the scene on Highway 817 near Strathmore at about 11:15 a.m.
RCMP believe a truck was driving north on Highway 817 when it collided with a southbound truck pulling a trailer. Both trucks only had a driver inside.

The man in the northbound truck was seriously injured and died on scene. Police said the driver of the truck hauling the trailer was treated for unknown injuries.
Highway 817 was closed for several hours, but as of 4:45 p.m. Thursday, had re-opened to traffic.
A RCMP Collision Analyst is still investigating the cause of the collision.
It’s not known where the victim was from.
