A 36-year-old man from Bradford has been arrested following two alleged break-ins in Barrie’s north end.
According to Barrie police, on Tuesday at 3 p.m., officers were called to a house on Duval Drive in the city after the owner returned home from work to find a stranger in her house.
Police say the suspect fled through the back door and was seen hopping fences towards Hanmer Street East.
According to officers, several police units, including the K9 unit, helped chase the suspect.

Police say a number of items linked to the break-in were located to the east of the Georgian Mall, as officers tracked the suspect towards Bayfield Street.

According to police, the man was found on the west side of Bayfield Street and was arrested.

Officers say he had multiple items of stolen jewelry in his possession at the time of the arrest.
Within minutes of his arrest, police say they received another call from a residence on Hanmer Street East regarding an alleged break-in.
Police say many of the items recovered while officers were chasing the suspect were connected to the second reported break-in.
The suspect was charged with two counts of break and enter, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, and breach of probation.
