A well-known Kelowna landmark, where suds and sunshine freely mix, will soon be closing its doors.
Global Okanagan has learned that Rose’s Waterfront Pub will be closing permanently on September 30th.
The building where Rose’s is located was sold, and the highly popular pub will close as a result of the sale.
It’s not known who bought the building and what will happen to it.
Co-owner, Rose Sexsmith, confirmed the impending closure.
“This has been an emotional day for all of us. It is true. Rose’s Waterfront Pub will close Oct 1st. The building has sold and they don’t want to keep the business. We don’t know what the new plans are and we can’t legally say who it is that purchased it yet,” she said.
Located at 1352 Water Street, Rose’s Pub is arguably the city’s, if not the Okanagan’s, most known place for pints. Just feet from Okanagan Lake, it’s not uncommon to see lineups to enjoy sun-drenched food and drink on the pub’s large patio.
