One man is facing charges and another remains at large after an alleged violent assault at a Richmond pub during Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals in June.
The police description of the assault reads like something that would be at home in the world of professional wrestling.
Police said the victim, a 57-year-old man, was allegedly struck with a chair by one attacker, then hit in the face by a second attacker.
It happened just after 8 p.m. on June 7, at a pub near No. 3 Road and Williams Road in Richmond.
Police say a “heated altercation” took place while patrons were watching the game, which escalated to the alleged assault.
The victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police arrested the man accused of wielding the chair, but the second man fled the scene, according to police.
