UPDATE: Southern Sask. RCMP officer fined for impaired driving

An off-duty Saskatchewan RCMP officer has been charged with impaired driving.

Members of the Assiniboia RCMP detachment were called to Wood Mountain Provincial Park early Sunday morning for a disturbance at a campsite, but a man left the park before officers arrived.

A vehicle was subsequently stopped and charges were laid against the off-duty officer from the Assiniboia detachment.

Sgt. Donald Duplissea is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and impaired operation over .08.

He is scheduled to be back in court on Aug. 9.

Duplissea, who has 15 years of service with the RCMP, has been place on administrative duties.

A code of conduct investigation has also been ordered.
