Big White Ski is hosting of the 2013 SportChek Snowboard Cross Nationals and the IPC Para Snowboarding World Cup.
Para Snowboarding is being added to the roster in Sochi in 2014.
“Big White was chosen because of our reputation as a solid snowboard cross venue,” says Flynn Seddon, Director of Terrain parks and Outdoor events at Big White. “To have the IPC Para Snowboard World Cup at Big White allows us a chance to showcase what we can do. Big White has always been a supporter of the development of snowboarding throughout the years and this proves it.”

The Big White team has had their work cut out for them in building the course with all of the recent snowfall the mountain has experienced.
Tom Velisek, former Canadian National Snowcross team member and past Olympian is assisting with the course design.
“I am really grateful to have the opportunity to work with Big White designing the course for the National championship and Para world cup,” says Velisek. “It allows me a chance to give back to the sport and to help advance Canadian riders on the competitive pathway.”
The event wraps up March 30.
