Ottawa police are hunting a group of young men who allegedly swarmed another young man on Rideau Street and stole his Bluesfest music festival entry wristband on July 7.
The alleged robbery took place around 6 p.m. that day near the intersection of Sussex Drive. The victim suffered minor injuries from the incident, the Ottawa Police Service said in a statement on Thursday afternoon.
Investigators are asking the public to help them identify their main suspect, whom they describe as a young man in his early 20s.
He was wearing a “blue or black windbreaker style jacket,” with a black shirt underneath and pants, they said.
Police have named the other three young men as persons of interest in the swarming incident and are looking to identify them, too.
The statement attached pictures of the three, but included no descriptions.
Investigators ask anyone with information relating to this incident to contact the robbery unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5116.
