RCMP have found the burned-out remains of a missing man’s truck near his home.
Vernon Karl Otto, 66, was last seen working in his field on May 29 at about 1 p.m. that day, on his property near Stead, Man., said RCMP.
Stead, Man., is 78 km northeast of Winnipeg.
RCMP have since found Otto’s burned truck, a 2005 white Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Extended Cab, near his home. He last drove the truck the day he disappeared, said RCMP.
The truck was found the next day. RCMP could not say if the truck had been deliberately burned.
They called his disappearance “suspicious.”
Police have found no trace of Otto, who is described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall, about 200 pounds, with blue eyes and gray, balding hair. He was wearing black jeans, a gold watch and black casual shoes when he disappeared, said RCMP.
