Calgary police investigate northeast child death

Police are investigating the death of a child in northeast Calgary Friday morning.

Both officers and EMS were called to the community of Pineridge at 7:30 a.m. for reports of an infant in distress.

Officials said the child was transported to the hospital in life-threatening condition but later died.

Police said an autopsy was scheduled for next week to determine the cause of death.
