WINDSOR, Ont. – Police say two boys won’t be facing charges after a nine-year-old girl was injured when she stepped on a board filled with nails that they’d placed in a Windsor, Ont., park.
Investigators say the girl suffered minor injuries Sunday when she stepped on the board, which had been concealed in a hole dug in the ground.
They say officers spoke with two boys responsible for the board after receiving a call from a parent on Monday evening.
Police say the boys had been playing in the park and set the board with nails in a hole with the intention of catching rodents.
They say the boys were extremely remorseful and informed their parents as soon as they realized someone had been injured.
Police say they have determined that there was no foul play or intent to cause harm.
