A townhouse complex under construction on the Surrey-Delta border has been destroyed after an early morning fire Thursday.
The fire broke out at around 1 a.m. Thursday at the complex near 62nd Avenue and Scott Road.
The homes, 38 in total, were owned by Woodbridge Homes Ltd.
The company tells Global News they were close to completion but had not started selling yet so no homeowners were affected.

When fire crews arrived on scene, flames could be seen shooting high into the air and there was concern the wind could spread the flames to neighbouring homes.
The winds did spread some embers across Scott Road to the Delta side and some homes did sustain damage from those ‘fire balls’.
