As the New York Yankees were between innings during their game with the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night, a second, shorter game got underway between the Yankees’ Aaron Judge and a fan in the stands.
Video taken by another person in the stands shows a fan, James Payne, wearing a “Judge” jersey and baseball glove, tossing the ball out to the baseball superstar, who then catches it and tosses it back up to the boy.
This continues for almost 30 seconds, with Judge at one point dropping the ball, before he tosses it back one last time to James and begins walking back to centre field.

A second video taken by Chris Payne, the father of James, shows several people shouting at Judge before the boy tosses the ball. Taken from behind James, it shows Judge raising a finger to signal “one more” before he walks off.
James said he didn’t realize the impact until later.

“I didn’t realize until the day after like how amazing it was,” James said in an interview with NBC.
The boy clearly has a bit of an arm on him, not only throwing the ball to Judge but doing so from a fair distance.

Chris said it was a special moment for his family and his son.
“What an awesome experience he’s made for my son and I, and our family,” he said.
Global News reached out to Judge for comment, but had not heard back by the time of publication.
