Ontario Provincial Police in Chatham-Kent have opened an investigation following a two-vehicle collision in the eastbound lanes of the 401, near Communication Road.
According to police, an eastbound vehicle failed to stop as traffic was coming to a halt ahead, smashing into the rear of a pickup truck.
Police say the pickup truck came to rest in the centre median, while the other vehicle landed in the south ditch.
OPP say the driver of the car that entered the ditch suffered minor injuries, and was transported to a nearby hospital.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene, while police say the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
