Man spits at Prince Albert police officers during arrest

Prince Albert police say an intoxicated 19-year-old man tried to spit on the officers arresting him on Wednesday.

Officers were initially called to a disturbance at a home in the 100-block of 29th Street West.

The man, who police said has a history of violence, was found intoxicated in a bedroom. He was on conditions to not consume alcohol.

Police said he physically resisted and attempted to spit on two officers numerous times during his arrest.

Additional officers who arrived at the scene helped take him into custody.

He is facing charges of resisting officers, breach of a probation order and two counts of assaulting peace officers.

The Prince Albert man is scheduled to appear Thursday in Prince Albert provincial court.
