“While the involved homes were not able to be searched immediately, the adjacent homes were evacuated and all occupants were quickly accounted for,” Calgary fire said. “One occupant of one of the damaged homes was treated by Alberta Health Services on [the] scene.”

Calgary fire said all of the residents who were forced from their homes found alternative housing and did not need help from the Calgary Emergency Management Agency.

An ENMAX crew had to be called to the scene to repair an electrical transformer that was damaged by the flames, Calgary fire said.

“Atco Gas Company was also on scene dealing with a ruptured supply line which was caused by intense heat and collapse of one of the walls,” Calgary fire said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
