CALGARY – A 26-year old Calgary woman has been killed while vacationing in Mexico.
Mexican authorities say Laura Penton was operating a scooter in an area south of Cozumel on Friday, but lost control while travelling around a curve. The bike hit a pole, which caused Penton to be thrown from her seat.

Penton died on scene, according to local newspaper ‘Diario de Quintana Roo.’
Her family is now trying to get her body home from Mexico.
