Body of missing Vernon man found
The days-long search for a missing Vernon man has come to a close after his body was found in McKinley Heights. Jules Knox reports from the scene. – Jun 2, 2018

The extensive search for 24-year-old Jordan Mooney has ended after the man’s body was found in the McKinley Landing area of Kelowna.

Mooney was last seen on May 27, when he left a home in the Dilworth area of Kelowna.

A search began in the McKinley Landing area on Wednesday after police were notified his Volkswagen Jetta was found at a construction site in the McKinley Landing area.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) led the search.

“Kelowna RCMP have confirmed that there is no criminality in the death of the male located and therefore this investigation is being lead by the BC Coroners Office,” Cst. Lesley Smith with Kelowna RCMP said.  “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mooney family and we ask that the public and media respect the  family’s privacy at this difficult time”.
