Mike Morden has been elected that mayor of Maple Ridge.
Morden won with 11,287 votes, according to CivicInfo BC. Maple Ridge mayor Nicole Read announced she wasn’t seeking re-election as she intends to focus her time on advocating for her two young sons who are both gifted and have learning disabilities.
Incumbents Gordy Robson and Kiersten Duncan were re-elected along with newcomers Judy Dueck, Chelsa Meadus, Ahmed Yousef, and Ryan Svendsen.

The City of Maple Ridge is located in the Fraser Valley, north of the Fraser River, east of Pitt Meadows and west of Mission.

History
The Katzie Nation was first to the area now known as Maple Ridge, though the Kwantlen Nation was also present there.
European settlers began to arrive in the Maple Ridge area amid the Fraser River Gold Rush in 1858.
An orchard planted at Albion across the water from Fort Langley was called the “birthplace of British Columbia.”
John McIver would set up a dairy farm in the area the next year; he called it “Maple Ridge.”
Settlers would meet at McIver’s farm in 1874 and decide that they should establish a municipality, naming it after his property.
The completion of the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1895 would lead to growth in Maple Ridge, with activity in farming, forestry and manufacturing.
The city’s economy has only diversified since then, coming to include education, technology and TV and film production.
