The City of St. Albert, Alta. has asked former mayor Nolan Crouse to head up a Humboldt Remembrance Committee to pay tribute to the young men who played in St. Albert who were killed in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash on April 6.

“The tragedy of the Humboldt Broncos has had a huge impact on our community,” Mayor Cathy Heron said.
“Everyone is looking for ways to honour these extraordinary young men and the committee will lead our collective efforts to remember them in a lasting way.”
There was a lot of brainstorming during a meeting Monday night.
“You can imagine how the outpouring of emotion has triggered so many ideas,” Crouse said. “Hanging jerseys in the rafters, to memorials, to sculptures to scholarships.”
“Whatever we do will be in respect to what the families’ wishes are.”
Crouse said besides the four players who had connections to St. Albert — Logan Hunter, Jaxon Joseph, Conner Lukan and Stephen Wack — Broncos’ head coach and general manager Darcy Haugan played as a minor for Peace River, which was an affiliate of the St. Albert Raiders program.
“The St. Albert Raiders Hockey Club looks forward to and would be honoured to work with Nolan Crouse on the Humboldt Remembrance Committee,” said Kevin Porter, president of the St. Albert club.
