Forecast for the week of March 25

The seven day forecast as of March 25. Global News

TORONTO – The first full week of spring is here, but there are still some lingering signs of winter to deal with in this week’s forecast for southern Ontario.

For Monday, a large storm that has been bringing a variety of severe weather conditions to the U.S. (snow for the Plains, Midwest, and Northeast, tornado-spawning thunderstorms for the south) will continue to pass just south of the Great Lakes.

Some accumulating snow could continue to fall through the morning for communities in southwestern Ontario such as Windsor, Chatham and Sarnia through the London area.

Total accumulations will be about two centimetres, especially close to Lake Erie, before changing over to a chance of showers.

For the Greater Toronto Area and areas to the north and east, expect mostly cloudy conditions with a slight risk of a few flurries and/or rain showers. Temperatures will be just a bit below seasonal, with Toronto’s normal being seven degrees celsius this time of year.

Throughout the region, winds will be gusting between 20 to 50 km/hr from the northeast. Winds will subside overnight and skies will continue to clear.

For Tuesday  expect a pleasant and partly cloudy day for the Toronto area and much of  Southern Ontario, with a seasonal high of 7 C.  Ottawa and Eastern Ontario will still be more overcast and cool, with the chance of flurries.  Wednesday and Thursday will be somewhat unsettled throughout the region. The GTA has a 30 per cent chance of seeing some flurries on Wednesday with a mix of sun and cloud, and a high temperature of only 3 C.

Mostly cloudy and a little warmer for Thursday with a high of 6 C and a 30 per cent chance of showers.

More pleasant weather returns to end the week and continues through the weekend, which is great news for those of us that have plans for Easter weekend.

Friday will be partly cloudy with a seasonal high of 7 C.  Saturday continues with a mix of sun and cloud and again with a high of 7 C.

For Easter Sunday, conditions will be mostly sunny with a projected high of 8 C.
