Kingston Police are investigating another smashed bus shelter, this time at Weller Avenue and Trillium Court.
Jeremy Dacosta from Kingston Transit said that it was notified by a passenger around 3 p.m. on Sunday of a “projectile” going through the glass in the bus shelter. Dacosta could not confirm what the projectile might be, and police could not confirm whether a weapon was used at the scene.
On March 7, three bus shelters in two locations — one on Hwy. 15 across from LaSalle Sceondary School and one on Hwy. 2 in front of the Kingston Military Community Sports Centre — were smashed in much the same way.
Although police did say they had a suspect for the current vandalism, they couldn’t confirm whether the two incidents were connected.
The damage to the previous bus shelters was up to $4,000, but this time, only one bus shelter was targeted, so Dacosta said the repair and cleanup will only cost up to $750.
